FOX 9 Minneapolis-St. Paul on MSNMinnesota weather: Strong storms possible Thursday - here is what to expectParts of central Minnesota are under a Level 2 and Level 3 risk of severe weather on Thursday. The Level 3 risk stretches from eastern Minnesota into Wisconsin. The high on Thursday is around 81 degrees in the Twin Cities metro. The afternoon storms are expected in the region between noon and 7 p.m. on Thursday.

A stronger storm system is scheduled to arrive this weekend, and with it comes better chances of showers and storms. Isolated, relatively weak storms on Saturday night will be followed by better chances of storms and severe weather Sunday afternoon and evening. Additional strong to severe storms are likely on Monday.

A Dense Fog Advisory is issued for Edgecombe, Halifax, Nash, Wayne, and Wilson until 9:00 A.M. Visibility will be down to a three-quarters to a quarter of a mile or less. Make sure to use low beams when driving on the roadways and extra time when heading out.
No severe weather is expected in south-central or south Alabama today, but there could be showers and thunderstorms. Rain and storms will be possible for most of the state through the day today, but the best chances for those stronger storms will begin this afternoon.
Clouds will increase again Thursday evening, and a round of showers and thunderstorms will become likely after midnight. This line of storms could include a couple of strong to severe thunderstorms with gusty winds, large hail, and an isolated tornado. Any lingering showers will come to an end around daybreak on Friday.
