Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will visit US President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday in what could be one of the most contentious meetings between the neighboring countries’ leaders in years.

As Politico reported on Tuesday morning, the Trump White House has been effectively waving off Carney’s visit: “Just another world leader coming to visit. One of many,” said one White House official about the one-on-one with Mark Carney. “No bells and whistles for the new guy,” another White House official said.
